How does a form fill seal machine work?

Sep 10,2024 | Views: 93
A form fill seal (FFS) machine is an automated packaging system used in many industries to package products efficiently. Here's how it typically works:

1. Film Feeding:

   - A roll of flexible packaging film is fed into the machine.

2. Forming:

   - The film is shaped into a tube or pouch shape using a forming collar or shoulder.

3. Sealing the Back:

   - For vertical FFS machines, the edges of the film are sealed together to form a tube.

4. Creating the Bottom Seal:

   - The bottom of the package is sealed to create a pouch.

5. Filling:

   - The product is dispensed into the formed pouch through a filling system.

6. Top Sealing:

   - After filling, the top of the package is sealed.

7. Cutting:

   - The sealed package is cut from the continuous film.

8. Discharge:

   - The finished package is discharged from the machine.
